The idea that Kate has no opinions has clearly been proved wrong by her actions in the three and a bit years since she married the Duke of Cambridge.

She may not have stood on the steps of the Lindo Wing and delivered a treatise on royal childrearing in the 21st century but she did pop George into his baby seat less than twenty four hours later and head home to mum. The future king spent the first weeks of his life with granny Carole in Bucklebury because that was what Kate wanted.

There have been no declarations about changing how royal engagements are carried out but the duchess hasn’t shied away from doing things her way – whether it’s posing for selfies with fans or running round a hockey pitch. In many ways, actions can always speak louder than words.
